Serving During the Liturgy
There are several opportunities for children and youth to service during the Sunday liturgy.
Acolytes: Children ages 8—14 carry the torches in the procession. This helps introduce youth to the participation and service in congregational worship. Current Acolytes are: Brooke Batalis, Lizzie Bianchini, Carly Hastings, Marston Norris, Jaclyn Shingler, John Shingler, Max Vosler, Lucy Vosler, Lucas Williamson, Riley Williamson and Joy Weng. If you know someone interested in serving, please call the Parish Office: 574-267-6266.
Crucifers: The Crucifers carry the processional cross in the procession into the church, for the gospel acclamation and recession at the end of the service. They also assist the Celebrant by handing them vessels for communion. Current Crucifers: Butch Schapson, Marston Norris, Riley Williamson, Lucas Williamson, Brooke Batalis, Carly Hastings and Ryan Lewis. There are requirements for youth to be able to serve as Crucifers. Please call the Parish Office for more information. 574-267-6266.
Lectors: Proclaim God’s Word during the worship services by reading the Old and New Testament lessons. Youth must be in High School to serve as Lectors and must attend Lector Training. Call the Church Office for more information. 574-267-6266.
